Miriam's Favorites that Only Locals Know!

Take a half hour drive to Titusville and have dinner at The Dixie Crossroads!  great rock shrimp

Have dinner at Inlet Harbor in Ponce Inlet . . . live music nightly, see beautiful sunsets, see an occasional manatee, or dolphin....RELAX

Do you like Italian food?  There is a restaurant along the way to New Smyrna Beach only about 10 minutes from the vacation rental
home...EXCELLENT  It was always called Sam's....but I think it is called Bello Valentino's now.

How about ice cream????? For the very best, take the family to Ritter's which is located about 5 minutes from the house . . .  on Herbert
Street and Clyde Morris Blvd.

Hospitals  . . .  Hope you don't need one, BUT if you do, visit Port orange Urgent Care facility or  either Halifax Medical Center in Port Orange
or in Daytona Beach.  The one in Daytona Beach is a 600 bed teaching hospital....they have the best nurses there....(How do I know that?)
because I worked with them!  I am a Registered Nurse!  Also, the hospital is making a new addition . . . check it out!

There is a lot to do while you are vacationing.  Take a day and just relax by the pool.  There is usually an abundance of sunshine!  My pool is
enclosed so you don't have to worry about the bugs!   Orlando is an hour away and the Interstate is only a 5 minute drive to connect.  St.
Augustine is a beautiful place to visit besides being the oldest city...It is an hour away.  Cross the Port Orange Bridge and head north on
A1A, about fifty miles of beautiful scenery...the Lion's Bridge entering into St. Augustine is beautiful!  After living in the Port Orange area for
over 15 years, I never lost the awe of seeing the sights in St. Augustine!  How about the Space Center?  It is about 45 minutes away.  It is a
good value for your money.  While at the "cape", check out the cruise ships...Carnival, etc.  depart from  this port.

Airports:

Jacksonville 90 minutes away
Orlando 60 minutes away
Daytona Beach International Airport 5 minutes away

Southwest, Air Tran and Allegiant Air (out of Belleville, Illinois) have great rates to Florida.
